BMW E60 535d – is it worth buying today? Honest owner's review!

OP OP! Article about the BMW E60 535d with an M57 engine and two turbochargers. 

The car was produced from 2003 to 2010. When it was first released, it received a lot of criticism due to its unconventional exterior design.  

Interior: Compared to the F-series, the design feels outdated. The old instrument panel, CCC multimedia system, and worn steering wheel stand out.  

Engine: Equipped with the M57D30TOP1. The car was purchased from Switzerland with a mileage of 220,000 kilometers. When choosing between a gasoline and diesel engine, the owner opted for diesel due to its reliability.  

Immediately after purchase, a major service was performed, including engine oil, brake fluid, coolant, brake discs, brake pads, and crankshaft pulley replacement.  

After servicing, the car ran without issues. A few thousand kilometers later, the emissions system was removed, and the car started emitting blue smoke… The issue was resolved by restoring the turbochargers.  

Is the BMW E60 still relevant in 2023? Visually, the car is still appealing, attracting attention and looking great. The interior has some drawbacks and feels outdated compared to the F-series. The performance is impressive, and the diesel engine's reliability is also solid.
