OP OP!!! The next article is about our BMW F22 M240i, as you may remember, in the previous video we told you about how we participated in the Ukrainian Drag Championship and promised to visit the Kyiv Drag Cup, so catch the story...
Upon arrival, we didn't expect much from this cup. We came there to drive, to fight with cool rivals and to show our stable time.
We went to the Kyiv Cup with 2 cars, our two and the Drum project F30 328 Stage 2+.
Our F30 328 had a training run of 13.2 seconds. After that, we had 3 qualifying runs, where the first run was 13.2 seconds, the second run was 12.995 seconds, and the third run was 13.22 seconds.
There were also 3 runs in qualifying 2, where the first run was 13.17 (F30 335).
When it was time for the second race, I didn't have time for a practice run and had to go straight to qualifying. The first race was against the M5 F90, where I was running on E25 fuel and the time was 11.2 seconds. The second race was 10.8 seconds. The third race was at 10.6.
After 3 races, we entered 3 classes: AWD, Unlim, ET10.
The first race in the ET10 class was against the E63 AMG - where I started very well and was the first to finish. The second race was against an M5 F90 - the opponent's car was the fastest in this competition and overtook us, our time was 10.6 seconds. After the second race, we were in the fight for the final 3/4 place, where our opponent was a snagged AUDI 80 - after the first race, the opponent moved away from us quite a bit, but as it turned out, he made a false start at the start. The second race was for 3/4 place, we had to get 2 wins. During the second race, it turned out that we were low on fuel and had 12 seconds, but our opponent made another false start, and we got 2 wins. That's how we earned the first cup in the ET10 class that day.
The AWD class, the first race was against the E63 AMG, our car was faster than the opponent.
The second race was with an M5 F90 - the opponent passed us and showed the best time.
In the third race, we were again in the fight for 3/4 place, and our rival was an AUDI RS6 - we won the first two races, but after we switched lines, I made a false start in race 1, but AUDI won the second race.
UNLIM class - we drove the first race by ourselves, as the E63 AMG left. In the second race, we drove against the M5 F90 and, as always, it overtook us. In this class, as in the previous 2, we got into a fight for 3/4 place, where our rival was a snagged AUDI 80, and because of its breakdown, we won the first race. For the second race with AUDI, we were given a big break while it went to its secret boxes for repairs. In the second race with AUDI, my opponent was driving first to the finish line, but by the end I caught up with him and it turned out that I crossed the finish line faster than him. We managed to take 3rd place in the UNLIM class.
Conclusions: Compared to the previous year, I see two reasons why we managed to get 3 cups. 1 - there were few rivals. 2 - we accelerated well by 1 second.
