Halogen: the most popular optics on BMW F30, it is basic.
There are two types of optics on F30 on restyling and pre-styling.
There are 3 types of optics on pre-styling F30:
1 - halogen
2 - xenon (adaptive)
3 - xenon (non-adaptive)
There are also 3 types on restyling:
1 - halogen (different from pre-styling)
2 - adaptive LED
3 - non-adaptive LED
If you see pre-styling F30 on LED headlights, then they are 100% delivered there, since they are not installed from the factory on pre-styling F30.
1 - Halogen headlights - their cost is $ 150 per 1 headlight. Many complain about poor lighting, and to improve it, they change the lamps to LED. (But when replacing lamps, problems with errors and so on may arise, we do not recommend this option for improving lighting)
2 - Xenon - there are two types of xenon - adaptive and non-adaptive xenon. Some cars come with an auto-high beam. Compared to halogen, there are many advantages such as appearance and lighting quality.
3 - LED Optics - found only on the restyling of the BMW F30 and can also be adaptive and non-adaptive. A very noticeable difference with halogen headlights. Most customers want to install LED headlights, not xenon, because of the small difference in price.
Replica LED headlights for BMW F30: cheaper than the original, there is a small difference in the inscriptions on the headlights and the difference in drying is barely noticeable.
We decided to do an experiment, comparing LED lighting (original), Xenon (adaptive), LED (replica).
LED (original) vs LED (replica) - the lighting is the same, no one could see the difference.
Xenon lighting: shines like an LED headlight, but weaker...
Prices: LED original and non-original, the difference in cost is $ 600
Nuances: there is no inscription "BMW LED" on the replica, there is no way to reduce the brightness / degree of glow on the side lights, possible errors in the parking light.
Rear optics: there is a difference in restyling and pre-restyling lights.
It is also possible to install M Performance lights, most people do not like such lights in comparison with restyling lights, but their advantage is that the price of restyling lights is 2 times cheaper.
Results: we, as a network of BMW services in Ukraine, recommend only original LED for installation!
