OP OP! Today we have an article about the exhaust on a BMW M4 S58. Until you hear the sound of the S58 exhaust on Stage 2, you won't realize what the problem is. At that point while I was riding Stage 2 with the medium catalytic converters, everything was fine, but as soon as we cut them out for the Stage 3 setup, something went wrong.
On Sunday I stopped by BMW Service Station Kiev Berestiyskaya and we decided to fix the problem.
We decided to try the easiest option is to stuff the exhaust part with titanium thread, we put all empty containers with it and decided to test.
Also I didn't like the exhaust with its loudness, it could bring discomfort to others, but after we filled the voids, the problem should be solved.
The first run showed the result immediately, on the move the result after the titanium thread was noticeable. There was no ringing from the exhaust, which made me very happy.
Why this sound happens: there are 3 runners on 3 cylinders of the first and 3 distant, on them 1 turbine, the cylinders work sequentially and together the exhaust almost does not cross and does not muffle each other exhaust. The 1>5>3>6>2>4 cylinder is triggered first.
The solution to this problem in my opinion is the X-pipe - this pipe pushes the exhaust gases against each other, there is a way to make it like this:
then the main flow will pass by, but when we have an X-pipe like this:
it collides them and compensates like the exhaust manifold on the B58.
