The BMW X5 F15 3.5i from the USA is an affordable and popular choice on the market. Options in various trims offer competitive prices.



Prices and Repairs  

This car was purchased in America with front damage and cost the owner $13,188. Without repairs, the car in Ukraine came to a total of $21,405.


The first thing we did was make a key for $350. Then we bought one headlight for $700, soundproofing for $150, and a hood for $800. The car was styled to look like an X5 M using a quality non-original body kit costing $2,000. Painting and bodywork totaled $1,140, floor mats for the interior were $200, a parking sensor was $50, parking sensor wiring was $80, a protection triangle was $60, a "crab" was $80, and a radiator panel air duct was $250. Wheels cost $1,245, winter tires were $550, and summer tires were $900. Replacement of brake discs and pads cost $500.


In the interior, the side of the seat was reupholstered, the plastic was painted in glossy black, the handles cost $200, and interior detailing and tinting without the windshield were $150.


Optics: the lenses in the front headlights were replaced with LED ones.


 

Maintenance and Tuning  

We replaced all fluids and fixed suspension issues for $1,225. The owner decided to upgrade the car and installed bootmod3 stage 1. To add sound, tips were added, the exhaust was modified, and a downpipe was installed, which cost $450. Later, a diagnostic was done, after which a couple of control arms were replaced, and an inspection was done for $250.


In total, the cost for the car reached $33,455.


Appearance  

On the outside, the X5 stands out with a non-original X5M body kit with textured grilles, a black roof, gloss black roof rails, and mirror covers. Gills were installed, giving the car a stylish look.


Interior and Equipment  

The interior is done in white with a light roof and a panoramic sunroof. Custom-made floor mats were added. The trim includes Hi-Fi audio, standard leather seats, a standard instrument panel, and the NBT system with a widescreen display. It features surround parking sensors and a rear-view camera.


Driving Experience  

On cobblestone, the car isn’t the softest due to its 20-inch wheels. It’s equipped with the N55 engine with bootmod3 stage 1 and a downpipe, which provides excellent throttle response. The brakes are somewhat soft, requiring a firm press for effective stopping. Despite its size, it’s easy to maneuver in parking and has a pleasant feel at speed. It doesn’t feel like an SUV and feels more comparable to a 5 Series in terms of handling.


I believe it’s better to have a diesel engine for this kind of car, but if you want more dynamics, consider a 3 Series with a 3.0-liter gasoline engine. Most clients would choose the N55 engine option because there are many on the market at reasonable prices.
