OP OP! As you remember from the previous article, we bought a new BMW F11 525d project in Odessa and sent it by tow truck to Kyiv.
After 2 days, we arrived in Kyiv and at 9 o'clock in the evening we were already meeting our project at the BMW service station in Beresteiska, our manager Slava, with whom we bought this wheelbarrow for two, very coolly evaluated it and he liked it.
A few days later, we got our hands on her. They started looking at what engines I could fit on the car, they were 2.0 liters and an engine with a 25d modification, at engine prices from $1,800 to $2,500. Our service had 4 already broken N47 engines that could fit this wheelbarrow!
We were inclined to the idea of taking the engine from our car, changing the timing chains on it, installing and testing the car.
The project is interesting for us because the karma of this car is not very good, in the last 2 years, 2 engines have jammed here.
When the car was brought in for service, we discovered that the engine had a non-original cylinder head gasket installed, and nuances were also found with the supply of antifreeze near the thermostat.
The equipment of the car is good, there is M-package, active cruise, NBT, projection.
Of the minuses, there is no sunroof or panorama, the music is not harman/kardon.
A day later, Slava went to the disassembly to choose an engine for the F11, but, unfortunately, due to its condition, the purchase did not work out.
The car was pushed to the service for defecting. Along with the oil, the antifreeze was drained and we proceeded to the analysis.
Later, the engine with the box was removed and metal particles were found in the exhaust system, the condition of the turbines was normal. When the cylinder head was removed, a broken piston and liner in cylinder 3 was discovered. According to our assumptions, the engine was already lined and the repair was done poorly.
We decided to assemble one of the four engines. All items have been tested prior to installation.
In a couple of days, the engine was assembled, 4 injectors were replaced with second-hand ones and the engine was completely installed in the car.
The first start was very difficult, but it did start! By the evening, the car had already been prepared for tests and Slava calmly drove home.
